Looking across the field I see a bumpy horizon.
The bumps begin to take on definition.
Turkeys were grazing the freshly mown hay field.
Dark shapes against hazy sky, the turkeys lurched toward the trees
where they quickly disappeared camouflaged against the brush.

First, my apologies for not blogging this week.  I am away teaching at Church camp and have seldom had internet service.  I promise to make it up next week, starting Monday.

This past Saturday morning we had a pretty hard storm about 4:00 AM.  I slept through it, but it must have been pretty hard.  About the time the sun came out, a bunch of male gobblers sauntered through the fog into our front yard at home.  It looked like they were drying off their feathers.
It almost looked like they were primping for the ladies, but it seems a bit late for that.  As you saw from last Friday's blog Wildlife From My Car, the momma turkeys have their broods already and probably don't really care about the gobblers for now.
This gang of fellows were mostly interested in only themselves.
Their heads are blue, so I suppose if a fine looking hen came strutting by they wouldn't refuse her.
Looks like they are posing for grade school craft projects.
As this one strutted back into the fog, I could hear his gobbled, "Good-bye"
