July was dry. Very dry and hot. Just as buds were forming many of my garden's flowers didn't get the water they needed. But such is the way of gardens. Next year will probably be different.
As is often the case, the strong have survived.
This is a time of yellows in and beyond my garden. Yes, yellows predominate but the late summer purples are also starting to make their color statement.
The Liatris, below quickly faded after I took this photo.
These bees made good use of the short bloom time.
These Monarda are blooming for a second time this season.
Every morning finds Goldfinches feasting on the many seeds that our wildflower patch has to offer. This one has found one of the few remaining daisies.
I am glad. There is plenty for us all.

That one picture with the field and the Monarda's what you call them. Flowers of purple.
Looks like at my field. The third picture. The trees behind so like I am walking there.
